Haptoglobin is a protein produced by the liver that binds to free haemoglobin released when red blood cells break down. Low levels can indicate hemolysis (excessive red blood cell destruction), making this test useful for diagnosing certain types of anaemia.

Ferritin is a protein that stores iron in your body, and measuring it gives a good indication of your total iron reserves. This test is one of the most reliable ways to diagnose iron deficiency or iron overload, even before
