Husaini Institute Of Hematology

Husaini Institute of Haematology is our academic initiative providing Diploma programs in Blood Banking & Transfusion Medicine, and Laboratory Technology. The institute is affiliated with Sindh Medical Faculty and Sindh Board of Technical Education.

Programs offered are designed to stimulate the understanding and knowledge of blood banking, diagnostic laboratory practices and current research in the field of healthcare.

About the Program

The Diploma in Blood Banking and Transfusion focuses on the following:

Blood and other samples collection and processing theory and practicum.

Roles and responsibilities of the Phlebotomy Technician, including governing laws and regulations.

Blood grouping, cross match, Du test theory and practicum.

Management of blood donors with practical learning.

Process other samples for laboratory and blood banks.

Quality Control standards and procedures.

Donor screening for Transfusion Transmissible Infections (TTI’s).

Patient Record and data maintenance methods and requirement.

Duration: 1 year
Semesters: 3 (4 months each)

About the Program

The Diploma in Laboratory Technology focuses on the following:

Venipuncture theory and practicum.

Blood Sample drawing and processing theory and practicum.

Other samples collection and processing theory and practicumUnderstand, identify & efficiently collect, process blood and other samples for Diagnostic Laboratory Analysis.

Haematology, Chemical Pathology, Parasitology and Microbiology tests theory and practicum.

Quality Control standards and procedures.

Patient Record and data maintenance methods and requirement.

Duration: 2 years
Semesters: 4 (6 months each)
Subjects: Haematology, Biochemistry, Parasitology, Microbiology, Histopathology, Sample collection and handling, Quality Management
